Professional scope
Luané Le Roux is a registered Specialist Wellness Counsellor and is not a psychologist, psychiatrist, medical practitioner or emergency responder. The practice provides supportive, person-centred wellness counselling within the ASCHP scope of practice.
- The service does not include psychotherapy, psychiatric or medical treatment.
- The service does not provide psychometric testing, formal psychological diagnosis or medical diagnosis.
- The service does not replace medical, psychiatric, psychological, educational, legal or emergency care.
- Where a need falls outside the practitioner's competence or scope, an appropriate referral may be recommended.
No emergency service
The practice does not provide a 24-hour crisis service, monitor website messages continuously or guarantee an immediate response. A person at risk of immediate harm should contact emergency services or go to the nearest hospital instead of waiting for a response from the practice.
Confidentiality and its limits
Counselling information is treated as confidential. Confidentiality is not absolute and information may be disclosed with valid consent, for appropriate professional supervision or referral using reasonable safeguards, to protect a person from serious harm, for child safeguarding, or where disclosure is required or permitted by law. Applicable limits will be discussed as part of informed consent.
Outcomes and website information
Counselling is collaborative and individual responses differ. No particular outcome, result or timeframe can be guaranteed. Clients remain responsible for their choices and for seeking other professional or emergency help when needed.
Articles, answers and other website content are general educational information. They should not be used to self-diagnose, make urgent safety decisions or replace advice based on a proper assessment of individual circumstances. A professional relationship begins only after the practice accepts the client and the required agreements and consent have been completed.
